MOXIE Public Schools
MOXIE is an innovative, tuition-free charter school for Maine students ready to flourish.
MOXIE comes from the Abenaki word “Maksi”: “dark water” or “medicine,” which was and is spoken by the Mi’kmaq, Maliseet, Passamaquoddy and Penobscot people of coastal Maine. Created in response to declining academic outcomes and growing workforce needs, MOXIE blends rigorous academics, personalized support, and real-world experiences. Students graduate with the skills, credentials, and confidence to thrive in college, career, and community.
